About Me

I was born in New Jersey and grew up in a small coal-mining town in Pennsylvania.

Receiving my nursing degree was a lifelong dream. Six years later I met the man of my dreams, my husband, Fred, on a blind date that proved there is such a thing as, “love at first sight”. We were married four months later and I moved to Toronto.

In 2011, I became a Certified HypnoBirthing Educator, dedicated to helping expectant parents achieve a satisfying birth with less fear and discomfort. I love my “job”. I also enjoy facilitating workshops and practicing Therapeutic Touch.

It warms my heart to see moms-to-be transform from fearful and unsure about their upcoming birth to confident and empowered, and excited for the challenge. I’m inspired to continue celebrating mothers and birth. I’m currently working on a book of Cesarean birth stories.

I’ve been happily married for 34 years. A crazy Pittsburgh Steeler fan, I keep my angels close and my beautiful granddaughters closer.

I believe there is a wealth of good in the world, as shown by everyone involved in the writing of Inspiring Birth Stories. It was a true labor of love.
